11th Annual Fall of the Arts - Date: October 19, 2013 10:00 AM

Location: Fort Myers - Join your family, friends and neighbors at the Alliance for the Arts from 10AM-4PM on Saturday, October 19 for the 11th Annual Fall for the Arts, a FREE FAMILY FESTIVAL featuring art, music, dance, theatre, education and community. Fall for the Arts is a campus-wide event showcasing the many fun and enriching ways community members can get involved with the local arts community. Local arts organizations, theaters, galleries, museums, art schools and individual artists will distribute information about their upcoming seasons. Area performing groups will dance, sing, play instruments and act in mini-performance on the outdoor amphitheater stage.Visual artists will demonstrate their talents in painting, drawing, sculpting and other mixed media demonstrations, while area authors sign & sell their books in the literary area.There will be interactive art stations for kids and a dunk tank featuring local elementary school principals and teachers! DSC 0390a1 180x120 FALL FOR THE ARTS FREE FAMILY FESTIVALPerformers include: Dance Bochette, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts Steel Drum Band, Kellyn Celtic Arts Irish Dance, The Todd Greene Experience, Gulfshore Ballet, Young Artists Awards, Creative Theater Workshop, Dance Alliance, Florida Repertory Theatre, and the Heart and Soles Dance Troupe. Participating organizations include: Acoustic Music Society of SWFL, ArtFest Fort Myers, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Community Youth Chorus, Cultural Park Theater, Florida Rep, Gulf Coast Symphony, Gulf Coast Writers Association, Imaginarium Science Center, Jungle House Publications, Little Miss Etiquett, Madieros Studios, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, SWFL Florida Symphony, SWFL Fine Craft Guild and the Symphonic Chorale of SWFL. Participating artists include: David Arrowsmith, Lori Denney, Karen Hubbard, Kelly Jumper, Joel Loeper, Alice Melzer, Kelly Muselman, Diana Ripoll, John Swank, Christina Thompson, Andrea Trank, James Usavage and Erma Woodis. We are happy to announce the return of the Fall for the Arts Creativity Contest. Students are asked to create a piece of art inspired by the following poem. Prizes will be awarded, and the creator of the Best in Show piece will win one week at the Alliance’s award winning Arts Camp! Categories are grades K-5 and grades 6-8. Entries must be delivered to the Alliance by noon on Saturday, October 19 during Fall for the Arts.
