House of the Week: A Vintage Villa Near 3 Golf Courses in Coral Gables

Most golf course homes lean toward the shiny and new. It’s rare to find one with a history and the charm to show for it.

This 1925 Spanish-style home in the upscale, tropical paradise of Coral Gables, FL meets those criteria times three: It’s surrounded by three golf courses that are as old and distinguished as the home itself.

The 7-bedroom, 7.5-bath property, which includes a two-story guest house and separate maid’s quarters, sits across the street from Granada Golf Course, which bills itself as the oldest still-operating golf course in Florida. The property is also a mile from the Biltmore Golf Course, which is situated behind the flapper-era Biltmore Hotel, and adjacent to the ’20s-vintage Riviera Golf Course.

Listed at $2.475 million, the estate features an elevator and a master suite with a spa tub and shower plus two closets, one of them large enough to be a bedroom.

A second-story balcony that overlooks the front yard and golf course is accessible from two bedrooms.

Among many period touches are arched doorways, stained glass windows and a staircase of mosaic tiles.

The listing agent is Helen Jeanne Nicastri of Coldwell Banker Previews International.
