It was on the basketball court of this stately colonial home outside Los Angeles that Steve Martin and his movie daugther, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, melted hearts while shooting hoops in “Father of the Bride.” The backdrops for that scene and for wedding-related shenanigans in the backyard are now on the market for $1.998 million.
They come with a 4,400-square-foot home that features all the trappings of grand suburban-style living, including a grand entry, formal living and dining rooms and a walnut-paneled den.
The 1925 home includes 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and a sun room with a Batchelder fountain. Its gourmet kitchen boasts Thermadore appliances and a 90-bottle wine refrigerator, and the traditional architecture is exquisitely finished with hardwood floors, custom cabinets and built-ins. There’s also a detached, 600-square-foot room with its own full bath.
And while the front of the house may look familiar, it did not make an appearance in the movie. A similar-looking home in Pasadena played that part.
